The Wabash Commentary (TWC) is a student-run journal of news and opinion dedicated to advancing ideas and insights about Traditional Wabash. Since its inception in 1993, TWC has fiercely maintained its editorial independence, free of administration or faculty control, not beholden to any social, partisan, or religious agenda. Drawing from both classical liberal and traditionalist thought, TWC's mission is to foster rational discussion in the common pursuit of Scientiae et Virtuti, on campus and beyond. Wabash has a lot of yes men: We aren't one of them. Here, as at any school, most people are willing to move along with the feelings of the times or the machinations of the College administration with no more than feeble griping. not us. We believe that the Wabash of today needs a more critical spirit of self-examination, not in the way that many people here want to deconstruct everything this school has been and promises to be, but rather that our march into the academic and cultural mainstream must be slowed. The same goes for our country and all of Western civilization. To this end, TWC brings together some of the brightest minds across campus to further this process of self-examination. In the form of our publication, we unite that intellectual spirit to take-away value for the Wabash public. We want Wabash students, alumni, faculty, and administrators to think more deeply about what our College does and why it exists. We are not opposed to change, but rather to any manipulation of our spirit, any transformation of our College, our country, and our culture without deeply considering who we are and why we should preserve our identity for years to come.
